Webster is a medium size community of 12, residents in central Massachusetts on the Connecticut border. This proximity to the cultural and commercial centers of Southern New England makes Webster an ideal residential community. Founded by Samuel Slater in , Webster was largely an industrial center of mills powered by its abundant water supply.
Both shoe and textiles mills thrived here, attracting immigrant workers who have left their distinct ethnic stamps on this diverse community. Webster's most notable natural asset is its beautiful fresh-water, spring- fed Lake Chargoggagaggmanchaugagoggchaunagungamaugg. This acre body of water with the longest place name in America is commonly called Lake Webster and is protected by the Webster Lake Association.
Water activities along this pristine, five-mile-long lake include fishing, waterskiing, swimming, boating and sailing. Additionally, there are over eight hundred homes along its shores. Also located on its shores is the well-known "Indian Ranch", the New England home of Country Music which for many years has attracted visitors to Webster from all over the region. Webster is well-served by schools.
There are two public elementary schools and the Bartlett Junior-Senior High School located within the town. Also, Webster has three more private elementary schools that provide pre-kindergarten to grade eight education. Carolyn J Boyce. Wayne Carter. Glenn R Chickering , Ann M Coddington , 49 Apt 1. Some ZIP Codes are special cases. Among them are "military" ZIP Codes, which include everything from military bases domestic or otherwise to battleships at sea.
Then there are "unique" codes. Businesses and organizations sometimes get their own ZIP Codes, due to the volume of mail they send and receive. These are frequently benefiting from bulk mailing discounts, since the organization usually has a mail department that 1 presorts mail before giving it to the USPS, and 2 distributes mail internally so the USPS doesn't have to. Using full ZIP Codes ensure the fastest, most accurate mailing possible.
They're only provided for an address once the address has been standardized , validated and proven real. These codes indicate a specific delivery route , meaning the actual path the mail truck would travel in a single drop-off. Usually this comprises ten to twenty homes or locations. Because ZIP codes plus 4 extra digits are based on delivery routes instead of more permanent boundaries, the last 4 digits of a complete ZIP Code can change often.
