We always recommend updating your watches to the latest firmware to ensure compatibility with the app and to have all the newest features. I have the fitbit versa and I am running firmware I like to save my battery overnight, but this update doesnt save the battery life at all.
When I wake up in the morning the time and step count is the same as when it was the night before. I never had a problem until I updated my fitbit. Is If so, then the battery issue from December never got fixed. My other inquiry was about the excessive battery drain when the Versa would be shut off that occurred with the Firmware update in December.
I have already seen a few posts of users that have updated their Versa to the new update and they are advising that when you shut off the Versa and turn it back it on their battery has drained excessively. It would seem that this wasn't addressed with new firmware update that just rollled out.
Until this issue is addressed and fixed, I will not update my Versa. So please have your IT folks check this issue and address it.
I wouldn't update the fitbit if I were you. I updated mine last night and I still had the battery drain issue. If it's not broke, then dont fix it. So if you like the versa the way it is, then there is no need to update it.
I had to update mine because it stopped counting my steps. I didn't do the December update because of the the issues that were posted. The battery draining overnight if you turn off your Versa was echoed a lot by users and was a deal breaker for me. I personally like the format of the older firmware versions better and don't really care about the additional so called enhancements.
Since the one major issue excessive battery drain casued by the December Firmware update has no t been addressed and corrected after 4 months , I will not be updating until this has been addressed and corrected. I will just keep ignoring the annoying reminder banner to update. Wish there was a way to turn it off. It goes off on its own into different things. How can it be fixed? Can we just go remove the update? My fitbit has stopped giving me notifications.
I updated thinking that would help I have synced it I updated my Versa yesterday to The watch cannot be turned off. The screen goes black but it still uses battery power and can only be woken back up by resetting it.
